The Time I Got A New Puppy

This year, for Christmas, I got a puppy. It took a couple of days to think of the name, but we put our heads together and thought of the name Piper. All year long we spent our time teaching her tricks. She does well inside but when she’s outside she thinks were in HER territory.

Although she still chews everything in her way she is still is a maturing pup. Since she is so “grown up” she deserves a grown up cut, so we went to the groomers and got her a Schnauzer cut (she’s half Schnauzer half Poodle), and she looked terrible. Everyday when we walked passed her we would call her ugly and walk away. The next day Piper just ignored us angry and sad, she was so disappointed with us. Piper was on strike, she didn’t know what it was, but she was doing it anyway. Two days later, she gave up and started loving on us again.

When she was just a tiny puppy she was so sweet and cuddly, but now she’s so mean and vicious. Now she has figured out all the secrets to getting up to the high spots,  opening our door to get to our shoes, and the worst of all she knows all our hiding spots. The good thing is that she doesn’t know how to get on the trampoline. When I found that out it gave me a sigh of relief.

Every time you get on the trampoline she barks her head off and scares me to death, and when you get off she chases you down and trips you. “TIMBER” I yelled when I went down.

When guests come over she will attack and we have to put her in the back yard but she’ll keep on bouncing and barking. She gets annoying after a while, but when they leave she settles down on the couch. The next day, Piper was not in a good mood, her breakfast was late, her attention level was at a low  level, and she had a new dog  in HER backyard!!! She went crazy.

The thing about dogs are they want to be the top dog on the Barking O-Meter. So Piper will go out there and bark her head off and come to us to say “Good Girl”. Piper is not the best pooch in the world, but sometimes the little things in life make a big difference later.
